Joy's mother, Gabrielle "Gabby" Briley Johnson's passion for tackling health issues through innovative outreach and awareness is more than a professional aspiration, it has become a personal mission. When her beautiful baby girl was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, Gabby knew this challenge was her next calling card for bringing awareness about childhood diabetes. 
 

Gabby's first task in this assignment is writing and publishing a children's book about how she and her family have managed her daughter's diagnosis and lifelong treatments. Gabby wants this book to be a support tool for other families who are experiencing the impact of Type 1 Diabetes and a fundraising tool for the Joy Olivia Foundation that will provide resources and assistance for the families as well.
